What is a Unicorn?

Unicorn Art in front of Moon

Unicorns are among the friendliest of fictional legendary creatures; traditionally depicted as animals who share all the main physical attributes of your average horse, but instead, with an additional single, spiral horn emanating from the top of it's forehead. This mystical horn is what gives the unicorn it's name: derived from the Latin root words that translated, mean:"one horn."

Archetypal images of the unicorn are heavy laden with beauty and symbolism. Unicorns are most commonly thought to be white horses clad with shining, spiral horns, the beard of a billy goat, tail of a lion, and signature cloven hooves. Such a rare, fine, and complete combination of the physical attributes shared by many common animals makes this fictitious dream-character mysterious and alluring.
